After Care

After Care Following a Colonic

❖ Your colon is 5-6 feet of smooth muscle – a colonic is like taking your colon to the gym and having an internal shower. You should sleep well tonight and may notice an increase in energy level tomorrow.

❖ Most people feel great after a colonic, however if you feel fatigued or experience a slight headache, replacing your electrolytes and a short rest will help restore balance to your system. We will provide you with an electrolyte beverage following your session.

❖ We will also provide a probiotic after your colonic. These “good bacteria” help your body assimilate B vitamins and boost immunity. A healthy inner ecosystem thriving with beneficial microflora is a key to good health.

❖ If you have a sensitive digestive system, it may be helpful to eat soft, nourishing foods such as broth based soups, steamed veggies, green juice or smoothies today. Avoid rich, hot, spicy foods, alcohol and carbonated drinks for at least 24 hours.

❖ Occasionally, bloating may occur as entrapped gas makes its way to the exit. Try a cup of peppermint or ginger tea and lie down with a hot water bottle or heating pad over your belly. Gentle clockwise abdominal massage may be helpful as well.

❖ Soaking in a warm bath the evening of your colonic with epsom salts, baking soda and/or essential oils can help enhance relaxation and the cleansing process.

❖ Some people have a bowel movement the day of their colonic, however it may take 1 to 3 days to resume normal bowel movements. This depends on your body’s natural transit time.

Keep it Moving!

✓ Strive to drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily, preferably room temperature. Add fresh lemon juice, trace minerals or electrolytes to the water for better absorption.

✓ Regular activities such as yoga, nature walks, dry skin brushing and jumping on a rebounder are all wonderful ways to keep your organs functioning optimally – even if it is only 5 minutes a day.

✓ Practice conscious breathing exercises and treat yourself to regular massages.

✓ Supplements such as Natural Calm, MagO7 or Cape Aloe are excellent options to aid elimination.

✓ Add a “Squatty Potty” to your bathroom for better elimination.

✓ Studies have proven that emotions directly affect our health. The colon is connected to holding on to past grievances. Practice forgiveness of yourself and others, allow yourself to grieve your losses, reduce stress levels, increase joy in your life and be kind to yourself.

Educate Yourself!

✓ Documentaries such as “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead,” “Hungry for Change,” “Fed Up” and “The Truth About Cancer” are eye-opening and can help you stay motivated to make healthy choices.

✓ Books such as “Clean Gut,” (by Alejandro Junger) “Brain Maker” (by David Perlmutter) “Radical Remission” (by Kelly Turner) and “Free Yourself from a Constipated Life” (by Catherine C. Stack)

✓ Check out www.Sonnes.com for high quality whole food supplements and cleansing products.

*First time client results vary, with initial treatments being mainly about hydration and massage allowing the beginning of breaking down the unnecessary waste. If you have had a chronic condition, several sessions may be needed to break through and promote a good healthy colon.*
